Bimal Guha is one of the leading Bangladeshi poets of his generation, and has been a fixture in the Bangladesh literary scene since the 1970s. He was born on October 27, 1952 in Chittagong and was educated at Chittagong University. His most noted works are in the areas of poetry, juvenile poetry, research and travelogues.
